Gloria Jean Sanchez (Delben), born on October 24, 1942, in Windsor, Ontario, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Gloria's career as a book binder spanned many decades while living in Toronto. Together with her husband, Tomas Sanchez, Gloria ventured into several entrepreneurial pursuits, including running a commercial cleaning business, owning a pizza and sub shop, and managing a kitchen cabinet shop in Windsor. Gloria has always been known as a relentless hard worker.
In retirement, Gloria enjoyed the tranquility of her home, which she shared with Tomas. She had a passion for gardening, spending time with her friends and family, and most of all, cooking. Her empanadas and risotto were loved by all who had the pleasure of tasting them.
Gloria was predeceased by her beloved husband, Tomas Sanchez (2022), her brother, Joseph Delben (2003), and her parents, Anthony Delben (1975) and Amelia Delben (Guatto) (1996).
Gloria is survived by her son, Christopher Delben (Michelle Webster Delben), her grandchildren, Joshua Delben (Daniella Cook) and Krystle Delben Hillman (Kirk Hillman), and her great-granddaughter, Presley Delben.
Gloria will be deeply missed by her brother, Angelo Delben (Carol), nieces and nephews, Colleen, Steve, Jennifer and Tyler, her extended family, and her cherished friends Elsa, Rosa, Carol, Roger, and Osvaldo.
Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Mass at St. John de Brebeuf Church, 67 Main Street E, Kingsville, on Saturday, June 15th, visitation at 11:30 a.m., mass at 12:30 p.m., followed by a light luncheon in the parish hall. As per Glorias wishes, a private cremation has already taken place.
